OUR MISSION
The mission of PDI is to assist local institutions in Southeast Asia to improve the quality of life of rural poor by initiating integrated health, community development, educational and environmental conservation projects.
PROGRAM AREAS
1) Integrated Community Development
2) Reproductive Health
3) Population and Environment
4) HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care (including Positive Partnerships)
5) Tsunami Relief and Reconstruction
6) NGO Sustainability
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT APPROACH
Each of these program areas places a strong emphasis on local participation, nurturing the belief that local people are best suited to shape and sustain their own development. In this regard, village communities are not only the beneficiaries, but also planners, managers and leaders. PDI also supports institution-building with local partner organizations.
